I'm currently working on two original pieces, in two very different genres.
The first is When the Spirit Moves - a paranormal M/M mystery set in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Summary: Brayden James is an eager reporter stuck doing society fluff
pieces for the local newspaper, when what he really wants is a chance
to work cutting-edge crime reporting. A series of disappearances around
Devil's Chase, the old D'Archane mansion, have revived tales of
vampires, voodoo, and unrest in the French Quarter.
Determined to
find the real source of the murders, Brayden begins his investigation by
tracing police records of all the disappearances and murders associated
with the area around Devil's Chase. Suspecting there is more than meets
the eye, he turns his focus, delving into the history of the D'Archane
family and the ancient manse that bears their name. Digging into
archives, he comes across the story of Lucien D'Archane.
Lucien's
life, and death, is shrouded in mystery, with no clear documentation of
either, other than assorted legends and wives' tales. Brady's research
draws him deeper into the realm of the unknown, testing the line between
reality and fantasy, while his every move is being watched and
documented. When his investigation brings him face to face with the
stuff of history and legends, will he be able to escape the dark choice
presented to him?
I hope to share pictures of Brayden and Lucien very soon!
The second piece is Homecoming - a contemporary M/M romance set in the Bremerton/Whidbey Island area of Washington State.
Summary: One of the most anticipated occasions
for any member of the military is a homecoming. Knowing your family or
significant other waits on the pier, anxious to see you again, is enough
to make any sailor excited. That is, any sailor except Lieutenant
Travis Michaels, who has been forced to hide his relationship with his
partner, James McAvoy, for the last two years in order to protect his career
as a Naval officer. However, the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell while
underway meant that his long-time partner could finally be there to
greet him when the ship arrived. Homecoming has never been sweeter.
My friend Nancy has sent me a pic that makes me think of Travis and James whenever I see it:
